Honestly, it doesn't really matter to me, if I hadn't liked the story I would've stopped reading a while ago. But, since you said to pick a side... I guess I wouldn't be opposed to a re-write, if only because you're trying to make the story longer and get back on track with what you originally wanted to happen.
More updates are always welcome! Besides maybe if you edit some things you will get re-inspired by your story, well more so than you are now. :D

that was quick! Thank you for your response. I just feel like I'm not giving this story the effort it needs and in turn I feel like I'm leaving you guys empty. I had that long hiatus and I feel like I let you guys down every second that I don't update. I'm not saying I feel the need to update daily, but I want to give you guys more to enjoy. I couldn't agree more that if I didn't love it I wouldn't read it. But that being said I am hesitant to vote for a re-do but only for one reason: I'm afraid we will lose this wonderful story. There was a reason you stopped writing the first time, what if it happens again and this verse isnt finished. My mind hates unfinished stories almost as much as i hate finishing someone's story in my mind to be at peace. It is for this reason that I vote do what makes the story alive for you. If your heart needs to go back and make it better do it, because if you are alive as you write this you will write better and more often. And if you want to just get it out and over with then do that. Either way I'm reading and finishing this verse off because your hooks have set and I'm caught.

There is no need for an apology. At all. You are free to do as you are inspired and should. I just need to stick to my rule and not read unfinished fic. Please don't feel like I was complaining or mad that you took a hiatus. You asked for what we thought and that was my genuine concern, if anything it is a compliment I love this verse so much that it literally keeps me up at night imagining what has happened and will happen.

I will go with the reboot as it seems to be the rage for many of my fan faves anyways. Besides it serves my own selfish need for more quality fic.

I will say though that the original premise struck a chord with me and made the wait between chapters well worth it.
