Criminy, did everyone know about this but me?

Apparently there is a thriving body of fanfic for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.  Much of it is Ford/Arthur slash, which seems so reasonable that I'm astonished I never thought about it before.  TheirloveissoBritish.  (And Betelgeusian.) The image of Ford Prefect in my head is of the short, cute, red-haired man from the BBC version, though ( Read more... )

Oooo, BBC Ford. So cute. And BBC Zaphod was exactly what I pictured when I read the books...I love Sam Rockwell, but not as a space Clinton.

Same here... although I did like his Freudian third arm that darts out of his jacket in a disturbing manner.

I wonder if anyone's ever slashed Beowulf and Hrothgar?

"Be the first! Start a fashion!"

And I just found out that Christopher Marlowe was a Jesus/ John the Evangelist shipper.

Please point me in the direction of this; I think it must be read to be believed . . .

"Be the first! Start a fashion!"

Coming right up. (Be afraid!)

I have to admit that Marlowe didn't actually write any slash about them; he was just quoted as saying:
"That St John the Evangelist was bedfellow to Christ
and leaned alwaies in his bosome, that he vsed him
as the sinners of Sodoma.
That all they that loue not Tobacco & Boies were fooles."
From the Baines Note:

... full of lots of slander, gossip and nasty backstabbing. I think it was used in court as an indictment.

Just so long as you don't forget the other plotbunny . . .

That St John the Evangelist was bedfellow to Christ
and leaned alwaies in his bosome, that he vsed him
as the sinners of Sodoma.

Well, it makes a nice change from Jesus and Judas. Maybe that was an OT3.
