I have NEW PANTS! I have never spent this much on one pair of jeans before. But they've turned out to be one hundred per cent worth it. They're the height, length, breadth, and color I wanted, and the surface even feels pleasantly smooth and downy

Let's hear it for good-fitting clothes! (So you got advice on jeans from the Toast?)

Yes! I didn't ask for the advice myself, mind you--I was just reading a discussion thread where one user asked for recommendations of jeans for tall women with long hips, and another user said "Madewell, and also Levi's has a line of jeans now that's intended for riding a bike, which have good tall sizes." So there I was, a fly on the wall of a discussion that was helpful to me too!

I agree with the general discomfort of jeans. I did find a pair a few weeks ago that contain some spandex, and I'm trying to make myself get used to them (they sit at the natural waist -- low-rise jeans, however unflattering, at least did not feel like a corset, which these kind of do, even with the stretch.)

Let me be potentially reassuring with the news that I bought two new bras a few months ago, and they felt like corsets at first in a different way, but I've now either broken them in or gotten used to them and think they're my most comfortable bras. Thus may it also be with the jeans.

It's like my birthday came in May!
