Today and tomorrow I'm moving from a private-room-and-shared-house near the university to another such setup half an hour closer to my job. Possibly keeping up a running commentary will make it easier. Then again, it may be a useful way to procrastinate. Off we go!

However did you have time to type and pack at once?
Sorry about the missing drawers, but maybe we can find something similar and more packable--maybe a visit to IKEA? Something portable and light (and cheap) like this http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S49884382

By procrastinating a lot. That is my secret to a more relaxing life, in general.

I'll happily take up the IKEA idea if I can't make this plan work out, but currently I'm thinking of hitting tag sales in the next couple of weeks. My landlords have loaned me the bureau they used to use back when the upstairs rooms were a bed and breakfast. What I really need now are bookshelves; I'm hopeful I may find some low, wide bookcases to push back into the angle of the wall. Will let you know.

Well, it was a whirlwind decision; I think I first saw the ad on May 12 and viewed the place a week later, then decided to move on the 20th. Yikes! But it's working out very well so far.

I'll send you my new address as soon as I set up a PO Box in town! My hosts have a long driveway and used to get their mailboxes knocked over by the plows every winter, so they use a PO box for all their own mail. I've closed out the one I used to have in [Buffaloton] so I'm an old hand at this now.

Congrats on a (relatively) painless and swift move. IKEA is a last resort, but I forgot that the yard sale pickings should be good around the Buffalo Valley at this time of year. Here you could wait two years before seeing a bookshelf or a sturdy shelving unit.

I may have spoken too soon: there's a last load of pickings for me to move today in my own car, but they're repaving the road outside. It'll take a while to get out the driveway. Will keep you posted.
