It'll be a ton of fun! A lot of great authors are already signed up, and we'll have a prompt post later in case people need help with a plot. And I'm about to make the authors-only side community to rant about your writing issues and to, you know, get feedback on bits you post of your fic.

I hope you sign up! ♥

I'm selfishly disappointed, but I totally understand! Maybe next time! :)

Would love to do something like this, even thought I'm not exactly sure if I get the hang of this thing. So a stupid question will follow. What exactly is required in a Big Bang?

Basically, you have until November 1st to write at least a 15,000 word fic if you sign up. It would be a rough draft, but it would have a title and a summary, so that a few days later we would pair you with an artist to make art for your fic. Then you can finish your fic, or polish it if you are done writing, and the posting of all finished fic and art will begin December 1st ( ... )

ah thanks! 15k. I'm so worried I won't finish on time though. How does the art bit work? Is there more than one or...

I'm just asking in case I decided to do my own. :)

The art is provided for you by a different artist who chooses your fic from the anonymously posted title and summary. We'll give them your contact info and then you'll give them a copy of your rough draft of your fic, so they can make the art to be ready by Dec. 1st.

And if you don't get finished in time let us know, and we can totally grant extensions.

We do ask that if you sign up to make art and write that you make the art for a different author, so that everyone has art to accompany their story.

As we start to write, are we allowed to post snippits of it? Like a couple sentences from a session or a paragraph from a chapter?

Sure! As long as it isn't an already posted WIP, it's fine. There will also be a community dedicated specifically to the authors, to get help/cheerleading or to rant about your fic as you post little bits.

I'm still flailing indecisively about this all, but I've also got a quick question pertaining to artists. What kind of art are you accepting? (traditional, manipulations, graphics, typography, fanmixes, et cetera)

Thanks for the clarification! (And, of course, thank you so very kindly for putting this all together! ♥)

We're kind of still trying to decide, actually. We're leaning toward all of those that you listed - with certain expectations, of course. Like, with fanmixes, as long as there's cover and back art, probably, possibly with another piece.

Looking back on that, it's all over the place and not at all an answer, LOL. How about I get back to you when we have a real answer? And you're very welcome, I was pretty selfish in making it because I wanted to participate in one, and I wasn't sure anyone else was planning on it! :)

That'd be completely fine -- I'm just glad to hear that you're giving it all so much thought! :)

Hehee, well, A+ for initiative!

This sounds like a lot of fun. I've been indecisive about doing it since I seem to always start a fic then get into a rut and can't dig my way out. Reading through all the comments in this post...I'm almost tempted to with the enthusiasm. I've even started plotting a fic so I may just join in...
