Book recommendation!

I just finished a pretty good book and I thought id share... my dad told me about it a while back and said "Nick... this is probably the best spy novel I've ever read", and since me and my dad somehow seem to have the same taste in everything, I thought id give it a try.

I gotta say that this was pretty much the best spy novel I've ever read.  Maybe

The Bond novels are substantially less silly than the films. Particularly the Roger Moore years.

You have read LeCarre, yes?

I am familiar with his work, but I've never gotten around to reading any of his novels... though I have seen a few of the movie adaptations. I'll have to pick up Tinker,Tailor,Soldier,Spy one of these days. I hear it is really good stuff... very gritty and convoluted.
