That was so beautifully written! Isn't it wonderful living in this HUGE moment in American history? Gosh, I just stumble over my words trying to express it but you did it perfectly.

(And I always freak out a little when I read "Abington Hospital"... *shiver* Makes me think of evil MIL as that's her stomping grounds.)

Oh, I am so glad you wrote this :)

That last picture you posted- a gal co-worker friend in my bank emailed it to me and asked me if I would print it for her. (I have one of the only color printers in the bank- long story.)

This gal is AA and has two young sons, and she said she wanted to frame the picture so she could show her sons that anything was possible. Honestly, as much of a supporter as I was for Obama, I am not sure I really "got it" until that moment.

And oh wow- complete side note here: you know the Lycee is down the street from me? And Ladera Heights is a very very short drive down La Cienega? Someday I hope I can ask you about your school experiences.
