We flew from RDU to PHL recently when Max was 7 weeks old. I made sure to have bottles and dry formula (if you use it, they'll give you water on the plane or you can buy it before boarding), binkies, diapers, change of clothes or two for him and me (spit happens) and a couple of receiving blankets for snuggling in case its cold on the plane. Also, if you don't have any, go get a couple of Podees. Life savers for feeding baby in the car seat and while traveling.

Since Zara is 3 months (same as Max!), maybe throw in a couple of her favorite stuffed animals to look at and play with when she's awake. Plus stuffed animals will squish into the carry-on/diaper bag easier than hard toys.

You'll have to put the stroller and car seat through the x-ray machine, along with the diaper bag and sling/baby carrier, so be prepared for this to take a while.

I think she'll do just fine. Hope y'all have a great trip!

Find toys you don't mind losing to keep her occupied, so that if something is dropped, oh well. In a plane, thats pretty much the end of that toy! Beads in a medicine bottle for a rattle, etc. Or get some Sassy rings and attach everything to the car seat! I flew with an eight month old, which is a much more engaging being. Chances are, Zara will sleep much of the trip. Nurse or give her a bottle or pacifier during take-off and landing. Ask to board first to avoid the rush. Definately take a stroller, and ask them to stow it right as you get on. Getting on and off the plane is easier with babe already strapped into the car seat, if she has her own seat (remember, she HAS to have a window seat).

She doesn't do much with toys as yet. Is she supposed to? Is my daughter behind? :-(

At 3 months we travelled across country with Ruby. she slept a LOT on the plane. Nurse going up/down if you can, or at least a bottle.will help with the ears. after we got comfy, the white noise of the plane knocked her out. (this worked well till she was 9 months, now flying is a lot harder!) We don't buy a seat for Ruby, just keep her in the carrier. The flight attendants will tell you to take her out but you can decline. I never took a stroller, but we didn't use one at all till she was about 9 months old, so if you do use it, bring it. Only pack a few things in your diaper bag... just enough diapers for the time you're going to be travelling, themore crap you have, the more annoyed you'll be trying to get it all shoved under your seat.
Oh and regarding the sling through the x-ray.. i've nver had to do that. I have always just walked through with her on me. Maybe I look mean, but they never cross me ;)
You'll have a great time, and whatever happens, it will be over shortly . :)

I'm so stupid, I was trying to figure out how you kept her in the carrier without buying a seat. Somehow I confused carrier with car seat. Lord help me!

But I don't think Zizi will enjoy 10 hours in a sling or carrier. She'll probably get fussy.

Thanks for the advice!
