england, with your lack of air-conditioning: i hate you.

In writing news, I've gotten some interesting challenges for
dramione_ldws andfwhg_ldws , due in a few days, which'll be interesting to consider when I am able to spare time from my busy bracelet-making schedule. :P

I've rediscovered the joy of weaving bracelets. You know the kind that are generally made of hemp ( Read more... )

I refuse to see that movie, because the "plot twist" in the book pissed me off to the point that I threw the thing out my bedroom window.

...please tell me that you actually did do that. because if you did that would absolutely make my day.
but i see what you mean. you think it's all about this major thing, you know, young kid sueing parents, then yeah, that "plot twist".

Yes, I did actually do that. (I learned my lesson after throwing Nothing But the Truth across the room; it broke a tape case.)

Is the movie twist the same as the book?

that is absolutely fantastic. i might have done something similar with the Women's Murder Club books. Or maybe not... they were my grandma's books; not really mine to throw.
well i haven't read the book, but if it's that kate wants to die, then yes. And I couldn't really see them altering that part - it's pretty significant.

Your bracelets sound pretty! I'd love to see pictures. How do you do the writing?

I liked the book that movie was based on (I have almost everything by Jodi Picoult), but I don't think I want to see the movie itself. I just don't think I could take Cameron Diaz seriously in that sort of role.

XD well they are lovely, so when I've made a bunch I'll arrange them all artistically and take photos. If you think about how with weaving it's like a criss-crossing pattern, the letters are in one direction and the background is in the other direction. It's dead easy, to be honest. Although it is fiddly and time-consuming. my brother was totally stoked with the one I made him. So irritating that his wrist is enormous.
I haven't read any Jodi Picoult, but I'm thinking I should read My Sister's Keeper now. I was a bit skeptical of Cameron Diaz in a role like that, but I thought she did it really well. And those kids... amazing performances.
