its very frustrating having to deal with money. Everytime I land a semi decent job something HAS to happen. Either I experience frustration from accolades going to those with seniority not ability or the boss has to fuck with my money, either way money is the tool of manipulation ( Read more... )

hmm. Provided that this is not an under the table job, and you have a signed contract with your employer, that person is required by law to pay you for servies you renderd. Other wise you could sue for specific performace. ( IE. your contract says you do X job and he pays you Y cash to do said job. If you do said job and he fails to pay you then you have legal grounds to sue for specific performance. I think. ) Im not sure what job you are doing at the moment but if every thing is legal you are due payment for services already performed, bottom line.

You don't really need a signed contract, either. Most jobs, at least in this state, do not involve an employment contract (except for things like, well, temporary contracting positions.) It DOES need to be a "real job." If you filled out a W4 and they've been withholding tax and such, he owes you for whatever your salary or hourly rate up until the time he tells you that you are no longer employed.
