[Why can't you be video so I can think you're a kappa.]

[There's always the communicator deciding to be a butt and turning on randomly during comments?]

Yes. It's happened to my brother and my brothers' sensei, for example. There are also others.

[Ffft or I can just tag you turtles more. .D.b]

Ah, that's too bad. ..Could chip removal really affect something like that? The only person who I'm aware of getting their chip removed is Okinawa-chan.

... Also, if I'm not being too forward, do you speak Japanese? I am comfortable with English, but my own language is nice to hear.

[This is true! |D Video posts will happen again. TAG AWAY /o/]

[And Donatello instantly switches to Japanese.]

No, you're not being too forward. I'd be happy to speak Japanese.

I've heard about it from my brother, Leo, but haven't experienced effects from others having their chips removed myself. But people lose control of their abilities and powers for a short period of time after they get their chips out, and depending on what they can do... It's possible.

People are losing their memories now? Okay, that is so not good. Do they give us a break here? Ever?

Are they losing all of their memories? Or is it more like they're a little brainwashed?

Raph can't remember our father. And both him and Minato think that Minato's our father now. It seems to be specific memories that are being.. altered. Or gained or lost.

I'm not sure "brainwashing" would be the appropriate term for that. Brainwashing takes time, effort. This was more... instantaneous. Mind control would be more appropriate, if it were something like that.

That's weird. I mean, if someone is doing this on purpose what could they gain from that?

...Unless, maybe you have an enemy that wants to break you guys up?

Not if its a ghost doing it. Some of them can change memories and stuff without controlling you. Its just like... you can't remember what things were like before.

If it's an attempt to get to us, it's not really working. Leo, Knuckles, and I are avoiding telling them that they've had their heads messed with.

Hmm. So ghosts can do these sorts of things, then?

[Also, completely unrelated.]

... So what'd you think of training today?

I don't know what we should do. If it is because of someone's chip it will be over in a week...but...

[Lost memories, always a sore point for Knuckles]

We need to figure out a common story, at least. What we're going to go with. If we're going to play along.

... It'll be a lot easier on Minato if we play along, from what I've seen. He's very family oriented; it's a shame that he doesn't have family here.

I don't think he's going to fall for that, I've already all but told him the truth. I just didn't get the chance to tell him exactly what memory was wrong before Amy interrupted me.

He is...and he did.

Leo pretty much did, too. ... but you shouldn't tell him the truth, anyways. If we're lucky, he'll assume we're the ones whose memories have been messed with.

... Did? [Donatello goes quiet for a moment.] ... They left, then?

Given the number of people that are ill, I would say it is more likely due to a chip removal.

I'm fairly new here, but what exactly about the number of people being affected makes you think it's a chip removal?

Do you know anyone that has been affected, then, personally? And how have they been affected--generalizations, if you prefer?

eyesofgeass May 10 2010, 16:28:34 UTC
Simple. Once you get your chip removed you are sick for about a week. During that week, anyone that has any sort of strange ability cannot control them. In the past there was another who had his chip removed and it tampered with memories as well as other things.

As there are at least two people I overheard that are sick, it could be either one of them. I have a guess, but that is only a guess. [Since he doesn't know how well Sho can tamper with memories.]

Of course it could be something else, but I doubt it. Those affected by this are too concentrated.

[Don's heard about the sicknesses, so he just listens. He already grilled Leo and Raph for as much information as he could get out of them.]

Correlation does not imply causation. But it's a valid thought. I'll keep it in mind. Of course, it'd be best if people actually said what their powers were before they got their chips out, but people don't like revealing their secrets.

I don't know enough to eliminate any of the ideas I've come up with, unfortunately. It doesn't seem to be malicious in nature--that's all I really feel I know.

Hmmm...

Lack of a noticeable pattern would indicate the latter.

Are chip removals typical like this, then? There was at least some sort of pattern with the ghost...

So far, people seem to be leaning towards that idea.

witchoftheweek May 12 2010, 23:46:08 UTC
Yes. Even if the scientists were responsible, it likely would only affect chipped individuals.

This is not the case.

techoutmystaff May 13 2010, 01:22:28 UTC
So you're saying there's no pattern at all. That it's.. random. Which could explain why I haven't been able to detect a pattern yet.
