I'm all right, because I pretty much ignore it when the writers are crappy and OOC. It's the only way to survive in fandom. But some of my friends are taking it hard. Hopefully, next week will be better.

In his defense, he almost died a lizard creature a week ago, and his best friends almost had to kill him. He's not really coping that well. Running around the Sanctuary half-naked with Abby's not even the first clue.

This is the only halfway-excuse I can think of for Will's behavior in this episode. The guy's been through a lot (dead twice, already, plus the lizard man thing, oy) and maybe his brain is getting fried. Or maybe the lizard man thing is activating more of his lizard-brain? Whatever, the episode did feel terribly OOC, especially for Will, and your story gives him a chance to start redeeming himself.

Honestly, I think what I said on ceilidh's post is what happened. Outside writer, fluff-piece, OTT, standing sets, and lazy wrap. I think it was supposed to be funny and light in contrast to the last few episodes, and it would largely have succeeded if they hadn't miscued the last part so severely. We'd all have been a bit annoyed by the giggling giddiness, but I don't think anyone would've been so infuriated if Will and Abby hadn't been so rude at the end ( ... )
