I am going on inspection, and as such, I need professional business pants with no cuffs, and I would like professional shirts that don't gap or do other stupid things at the breast line. So, armed with gift cards we've had for a while,

Ehh, given the context of 1600s monarchy, I can see fear and revere being virtual synonyms.

Both the NIV and my translations are from the 20th century, though.

Because you know I like a face to face religious discussion with sane people but don't like to chat about it online.

Have you looked at what Bravissimo has to offer in shirts? Like the lingerie they carry they cater to those of use with more enhanced bust curves. A few of people I know have fallen in love with their blouses.

I haven't; I really want to do some good measuring before I buy online again. I got burned a couple of times. But I'll keep it in mind; I'd forgotten that they do stuff other than bras and swimsuits.

If you make it to Northgate, it's worth checking Torrid too. Their overall aesthetic is not businesslike, but individual pieces can work really well. (Not sure whether there's one at Alderwood.) I find that neither store tailors for my exact proportions, so usually the waists are a bit big, but it's a lot better than in mainstream stores. The real problem is that 14-16 there is bigger than 14-16 elsewhere, so you might fall into the same crack I do between available actual sizes. Good luck!

I'm not very spiritual right now, but "And you shall love Adonai your G-d with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your being" is beautiful. I'm glad you investigated the translations.

I love Torrid, but not for business, alas.

And, FYI, that translation is the common one found in Reform congragations nowadays (and hence the one that I've memorized.) My copy of the Torah has it "...with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might," which I believe was common before the newest iteration. Just for ponderment, y'know.

You know, I like Torrid but every time I actually go in there, I can find anything I actually like.

Here's what the New King James version says:

13 You shall fear the Lord your God and serve Him, and shall take oaths in His name.
14 You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you
15 (for the Lord your God is a jealous God among you), lest the anger of the Lord your God be aroused against you and destroy you from the face of the Earth.

Wow, that is interesting. So it seems that the "jealous God" bit is not from the original. Very interesting.
