It’s not exactly the same this time.
It’s Easter instead of Christmas, it’s O-positive blood instead of A-positive. But Rose has played this game before, and she knows how it ends.
She doesn’t try to challenge them. Hasn’t got the faintest idea how to use a sword, let alone where to find one. No, better to stay away, and let Torchwood take care of it, just like they did back on her world.
Alone, she turns her face towards the sky, and watches the ash serenely fall down to earth.
She wonders if the Doctor would be disappointed in her.
