Oooh. Somehow I thought this was spot-on. Johnny's honesty, his rebel image, and Plushenko was really good as well, despite the points you bring out in the end, hehe. (Not everything has to be exactly lifelike to be good.) I just thought it was fantastic, one of the best FS fics I've read so far and most definitely angst written well.

I'll be looking forward to anything else of yours in the future. :)

Thanks! Most the things I wrote about Johnny were suppose to find their way in an analysis of his character, but instead, they ended up in this fic. Funny how things work out sometime. XD

Oh, arrgh. I love this and it's so beyond perfect. Plushenko- you make it so we understand him; we want to hate him but we understand him so we can't. It's all so real and beautifully done.

Aw, thank you so much! I've always favored writing 'to you' because it personifies the reader and it comes easier to me because I tend to to talk to myself as the character a lot. Which... totally does not sound as weird as it just did. ^^;

This is a neat piece. I think you've captured some essential truths about both characters, and I like that you've dealt fairly with the fact that Evgeni is married. The American public refers to this as 'inconsistentcy' and they conveniently forget that he has been their National champion for three straight years. That's exactly right. Thanks for venturing beyond the schmoop!

You're welcome! You've nailed the two main topics I was thinking of when I first began to write this fic. First, that Plushenko was married, and second, that America does not seem to respect Johnny despite the fact that he oozes individuality and creative use of the right to free speech.

I love your icon, by the way. Did you take that picture yourself? ^^

No, the picture in my icon is from Johnny's website. Only time I've seen him live was at Champions on Ice a couple of weeks ago, and I was up in the nosebleed section. callmesandy made the icon for me, because it was the gayest picture she could find. Glad you like it!

This is a great fic. Don't apologize for it. :) The characterizations are great, even if they are "out of character". I totally buy Evgeni trying to convince himself that there isn't anything between them, and you've got Johnny down well. :) I love the style of this. Just fantastic.

Thank you so much! My only problem with this fic is that you could probably replace 'You' and 'Johnny' with anyone and it'd still make sense and whatnot. Ah well, I'm happy you enjoyed it! =D

I don't think that's true. Johnny certainly has a reputation for truth, or, at least, speaking his mind, that no other skater does. And he does seem to worship Plushenko. In his Interact page, he mentioned that he enjoys the Sex Bomb routine, which is just awesome. And Plushenko's always seemed to me to be even more of a perfectionist than anyone else, but that might just be because of the specter of Mishin hanging like a gloomy raincloud. ;)

He also mentioned that Plushenko was Boss and Versace and (if you go and read all of them) that he liked Yagudin more than Plushenko first, then switched. I want to write something on Johnny and Sex Bomb, but I can't seem to come up with anything believable. ^^;

I have mixed feelings about Alexei Mishin, because he seems very cold and calculating, yet Plushenko's biography says "When Alexei Mishin found out the living conditions where Zhenya lived, he moved him to Miguel Alegre; later on when Alegre left to Spain, Evgeni lived with Mishin... Finally, Mishin asked Evgeni's mom to come to St. Petersburg and then he paid for the rent in a better communal apartment where Zhenya and his mother could live." so... mixed feelings.
