It took a little creative navigation and a lot of brain power but we've managed to pick up Germany and Italy from the tiny rock Germany called an island. But luckily for us there was a REAL island not too far from where they were stranded. It seems relatively deserted for the most part but no matter. I have a particular fondness for traditional German dishes, French cuisine (apologies), and Italian food.

I also prefer my fried fish a nice golden brown. Not black.

So I feel I must decline once again.

I would not say it is popular. Generally it is frowned upon, except for select dishes perhaps. Flambe, maybe. Grilled meats, possibly. But there is a difference between charred and burnt beyond recognition.
