Since it's Easter and spring is in the air in the northern hemisphere and url_girl and sandstorm63 have already entertained people with B/J/&G/R hedz pasted on cute bunnies, I thought I'd show you my terrier, Chezza, and his lunch lover, Hoppy.   Chezza was the blond stalker in the beginning on their non-defined, non-conventional relationship, but eventually the ( Read more... )

That first one is so cute. I can't believe how calm the dog was. My dog would have barked like an idiot and tried to play with the pissed off bunny.

I can't believe how calm the dog was.

He wasn't at first - although he's not much of a barker in general. He was the typical predatorial stalking terrier when Hoppy was kept in a hutch for the first year or two of his life. Then when my sister's family allowed him to become a free-ranging rabbit, Hoppy was chased until he found a hiding place. I've studied dog behavior so I always kept an eye on both their body language to see that things weren't getting out of hand. Then my sister and her family got a schnoodle pup (who was smaller than the rabbit) and he grew up playing with Hoppy. Finally, Hoppy decided that he was happy for more fun and stopped hiding and Chester had no answer to that since it's no fun chasing a rabbit that just stood there facing him! He certainly didn't want to bite him or anything. Hoppy started chasing Chester too every time he walked away and its been a game to them ever since. They were both probably a little tired at that point in the video :)

That is so damn cute. My dog grew up with a bossy cat, who has since died. She knows not to mess with cats. We think she thinks she's a cat. We have other cats now, and she is so nice to them. They sleep all curled up together in one chair.

You don't get holiday icons much funnier than a batch made by the speshul url_girl (she also made hilarious Jewish passover ones).

My mother's evil Dachshund is always humping her odd plush hedgehog toy. And it's a female (the Dachshund, not the hedgehog) so I don't really know why it's doing this. My mother hypothesizes that "when she was smaller it was the right size to rub up against certain parts and it felt really good, so she keeps doing it." So, a) I kinda don't want to hear my mom talking about stuff like that, and b) Yeah, the stupid dog is of the size now that when she TRIES to hump the goddamn thing, SHE'S JUST HUMPING AIR. WHY DOES SHE DO IT? ZOMG.

P.S. I really like the animated GIF of the bunny humping the balloon which then pops. Teehee. Er. Tried to find it, but couldn't, so I'll hope you've already seen it. Or I could upload it later. Heh. If you feel the burning desire for more attempted animal sex than you've already got. ;)

WHY DOES SHE DO IT?

Some female dogs end up quite masculanized (after being wedged between 2 male pups in the uterus) and sometimes it's just an outlet to relieve stress or frustration. My dog's neutered so I've v. rarely seen him hump anything, but my sister's family unneutered male rabbit (the one with my dog) apparently does hump their unneutered male dog who is much closer to his size (and vice versa since they're, um, versatitle) but I haven't been able to catch them 'doing it' *lol*

P.S. I really like the animated GIF of the bunny humping the balloon which then pops.

No, I haven't *shucks*. All I've managed to stumble onto is Kermit humping a stuffed animal (which Photobucket deleted because it was supposedly too pornographic! *points and shakes head hoping LJ mods have a better sense of humor*).

I guess that bunny & balloon gif is pretty safe since it's about as heavily in shadow as Jake & Heath in a pup tent :)
