SUMMARY: Jack and Ianto go for a Sunday Drive. Nothing ever runs smoothly for them though. Silly fluff! :)
CHALLENGE:
horizonssing Day 15:
Road between Tredegar and Crickhowell “Tell me Jack, when you suggested a quiet Sunday drive in the countryside did you equate this into your plans?” Ianto asked as he continued to riffle through the boot of the SUV. They were on the road somewhere between Tredegar and Crickhowell, at least that’s where Ianto assumed they were. After the amount of turns Jack had taken at high speed Ianto wasn’t entirely sure they were still in Wales.
“It wasn’t on my top ten list of things to do for the day.” Jack confessed as he continued to empty crates of equipment onto the side of the road before lifting the carpet out the boot of the car. Ianto had just unearthed a very grubby looking jack and was now removing his casual white shirt to reveal his black undershirt.
“Incidentally, that one was.” Jack teased as Ianto carefully folded up the shirt and put it on the back seat of the SUV before retrieving the jack and wheel brace.
“You going to help or you just going to stand there posturing?” Ianto asked as he bent down in the muddy verge, placing the jack just under the edge of the car.
“Eh, you see the thing is,” Jack started, but Ianto didn’t let him finish, cutting across him with laughter.
“You don’t know how to change a tyre?!” Ianto chortled in disbelief before shaking his head.
“I never thought I’d see the day when I’d find something Jack Harkness was incapable of doing.” Ianto teased as he started trying to pull the wheel cover off.
“It’s not that I don’t know how to do it, in theory I do, I’ve just never changed one.” Jack admitted as he shrugged out his coat, placing it on top of one of the crates now at the side of the road.
“But I am ready and willing to learn at the feet of the master.” Jack joked, bowing slightly before he unbuttoned his shirt sleeves and started rolling them up.
“Well you can start by looking for the security nut key.” Ianto advised as he gave one last tug of the wheel cover which came free in his hands.
“Excuse me?” Jack’s eyebrow quirked as he tried not to laugh. Ianto just rolled his eyes in return.
“It should be in the glove box unless someone’s chucked it out and replaced it with alien tech or sweets or computer parts or condoms. Again.” Ianto glared.
“I was being thoughtful. And those condoms came in really useful!” Jack argued as he moved round to the passenger side, opening the door and glove box respectively.
“Yes, they made very good water bombs.” Ianto agreed reluctantly as he started loosening the wheel nuts.
“What’s it look like?” Jack called, his voice muffled slightly from inside the car.
“It’s round and silver and looks like it’s got a nut on one end.” Ianto replied, all but jumping up and down on the wheel brace to try and get the nut loose.
“Yeah, that helps.” Jack grumbled as he continued to fish through the glove box, unearthing half eaten Mars Bars, CDs, condom wrappers, a least half a mother board before he came across something that looked roughly like Ianto’s description.
“This it?” Jack asked, waving it in Ianto’s face.
“Yup.” Ianto nodded, holding out his hand for the security nut which Jack let drop into it.
“Also when was the last time you cleaned out the SUV?” Jack mused.
“Yesterday morning, why?” Ianto looked curiously disturbed.
“Seriously?” Jack’s eyes widened slightly as he lent against the driver’s door. “It looks like there’s a least a month’s worth of detritus in there.”
“It may come as a shock to you, Sir,” There was a distinct emphasis on the word Sir. “But you lot are not the tidiest of God’s creatures.” Ianto stated as he started loosening the security nut.
“Hey! I tidy up after myself!” Jack protested as he absentmindedly stared at Ianto’s arse while it bobbed about in front of him.
“Yes and during the night the magic elf fairy washes all your dirty coffee mugs, mends your coat, files your reports and takes out the half eaten boxes of pizza.” Ianto replied sarcastically as he brought himself up to his full height, wiping the back of his hand across his forehead.
“Ok, I try at least, which is way more than Owen does.” Jack admitted, still trying to redeem himself.
“Yes, you’re very trying.” Ianto declared with a wry smile. Ianto missed the glare Jack gave him as he pointed down at the jack he was shuffling into place with his foot.
“You can jack the car up since you want to learn.”
Jack obeyed instructions, watching as the wheel lifted off the ground before Ianto told him to stop.
“Now you can go get the spare out the boot while I get this one off.” Ianto ordered as he set to work again with the wheel brace.
“You know you’ll make a very good mother some day.” Jack huffed as he stomped round to the rear of the car again, scuffing his boots on the side of the road.
“Well I wasn’t the one who decided to take a short cut across country. When you said a drive in the country I didn’t think you meant literally.” Ianto moaned.
“The car was made for off-roading, it should be able to handle Wales. It’s not exactly the Himalayas is it?” Jack argued as Ianto turned slightly to regard the rugged Welsh countryside they had just driven over. It wasn’t exactly easy going either, Ianto thought. At least they’d not broken down in the middle of that. If they had, Ianto was pretty sure he would have killed Jack by now. At least they’d have had Gwen’s half eaten Mars Bars as sustenance.
The last nut came loose with a jolt as Jack rolled the wheel round from the back of the car. It took the two of them to lift the wheel free from the SUV, unfortunately Jack dropped his side which caused Ianto to let go as well and before they knew it they were watching the flat tyre lolloping away from them down through the field at the side of the road. They both looked at each other.
“Help me lift this on and then you can go and retrieve it.” Ianto suggested, bending to pick up the new wheel.
“Me? How come I have to go get it?” Jack demanded, placing his hands on his hips in defiance.
“Because you don’t know how to change a tyre remember.” Ianto answered slyly.
“In theory!” Jack all but yelled back, but he was already helping Ianto lift the new wheel onto it’s bearings.
By the time Jack returned with the flat tyre Ianto had long since finished putting the new wheel on, and the SUV was now back on all fours. Ianto was perched on the edge of the boot, a bottle of water in one hand as he watched Jack struggling back up the last small incline.
“Don’t rush to help.” Jack called out to him.
“I won’t.” Ianto replied, smiling slightly as the wind whipped at his flushed cheeks. Jack reached the road and let the wheel topple onto it’s side before swiping the bottle of water from Ianto’s hand, taking a huge gulp as he closed his eyes, relishing in the cool liquid rushing down the back of his throat.
Ianto chuckled as he plucked bits of heather and bracken from Jack’s shirt, hair and trousers, affectionately pinching him in inappropriate places as he did so.
“Are you not built for off road?” Ianto mocked as Jack finished the bottle of water, his gaze moving to glare at Ianto. There was a glint of mischief in the young man’s eyes as Jack took his thumb and started rubbing at the oil smear on Ianto’s cheek. He moved so he was standing between Ianto’s legs, leaning in to lick Ianto’s cheek before rubbing at it again. He licked Ianto’s nose as well, even though there was no oil there before his tongue was in Ianto’s mouth, swishing and swirling with Ianto’s own. He could feel the sweat trickling down Ianto’s back as his hands slipped beneath the clammy fabric of his t-shirt, dipping below the waistband of his boxers.
Jack could feel Ianto’s hands un-tucking his own sweat drenched shirt, pulling him in closer so his knees banged off the back of the car. He didn’t care though as he tried to crawl into the boot on top of Ianto. He was startled to find Ianto pushing him away now as he began to rub against Ianto’s thigh. It took Jack a moment to realise there was the sound of a car pulling up beside them. There seemed to be a fleet of 1970’s VW camper vans gunning behind the lead one. The window rolled down to reveal an amused looking couple.
“Sorry to interrupt guys. Couldn’t direct us to Abergavenny could yah?”
Ianto cleared his throat, trying to pull his t-shirt straight again while Jack continued to straddle him.
“You need to turn around. There should be a sign at the end of the road telling you to go left.”
“Cheers mate.” The guy in the drivers seat smiled as the girl beside him gave him a thumbs up before they were doing a U turn in the road, at least another four camper vans following their lead, trundling back the way they had just come.
“I find it slightly ironic that when we need the tyre changing there’s no one for miles, but the minute something starts happening half of the tourists visiting Wales turn up looking for directions.” Ianto huffed as he watched the trail of camper vans disappearing into the horizon.
“Wales obviously needs better tourist information.” Jack mocked as he glanced sideways at Ianto. It took Ianto a moment to realise that it was a dig at him. He hit Jack playfully on the leg before he pulled himself out of the boot, kicking the dead tyre still lying in the road.
“And where are you going?” Jack asked, quirking an eyebrow.
“Well I was going to put all this back in the boot so we could finish our drive without any more mishaps.”
“The only exertion I want you doing now Mr. Jones involves me and this boot, and I personally hope there are lots of mishaps.” Jack waggled his eyebrows to drive his point home as Ianto rolled his eyes for the umpteenth time.
“Jack if you want sex in the boot of the car then just say you want sex in the boot of the car.” Ianto said, stepping back over to Jack and positioning himself in between his legs.
“Ianto.” Jack stated, his hands tracing up Ianto’s muscular arms, dipping in and out of the curves.
“Yes Jack?”
“I want sex in the boot of the car.”
“Well I’ll see what I can schedule in for later this week, but-“
Ianto’s sentence was cut off as Jack pulled him down into the boot in a bruising kiss. When they finally parted for air Ianto’s belt and the buttons of his trousers were already undone, by whose hands he was unsure.
“But?” Jack asked innocently.
“No but.” Ianto replied a little breathlessly before his lips were locked to Jack’s again, while a little voice in the back of his mind prayed the road stayed quiet and the other’s back at the hub hadn’t noticed the car was missing.
