This is techy but short. I have to draw a diagram for my report, and I randomly installed a program called Dia. It took most of the pain out of making a simple diagram. I love it! It's turned a task from being stupidly complicated to beautifully simple because all I want to do is use simple and common symbols, and it provides them. I don't have to ( Read more... )

Seems there is - check out http://dia-installer.de/index_en.html

Now, bear in mind it doesn't have any specific microbio stuff that I know of, but it does have preset objects for flowcharts and whatnot. Let me know if it's of any use.

GraphViz is good if you need something that you can script and automate.
