You know, one mental image led to another there. And now I'm picturing all the stones in the stockroom forming an impromptu choir when no one's around, singing "I'll put a spell on youuuuuuu".
At one point in college, I was trying to pay my tuition and other school bills by myself, and was coming up way short. My financial aid officer refused to approve me for any more grants or loans because "you might not be able to pay them back." I thought I was going to have to drop out for a year or more. A Wiccan friend of mine gave me some iron pyrite that he'd incanted over to bring me financial prosperity. I bit back a laugh, thanked him very sincerely, and put it in my pocket. Three days later, my financial aid officer went out on vacation, and her fill-in called me up and said "it looks like you could use some more money, is that true?" Within the week I was covered and got to continue school, spreading out the last two years of classes over a three-year period. I told Ken any time he wanted to give me more rocks, he was welcome to do so.
