time it was and what a time it was

I just applied for graduation.

I am graduating in less than two months. Leaving OU, leaving Athens, leaving the Donkey and the Hoov and the bench in Emeriti Park that I sat on and read American Gods on my first afternoon here, trying desperately to stave off the homesickness.

Will I be homesick for here when I leave?

ICE CREAM SOLVES EVERYTHING.

Except lactose intolerance.

Or Ben & Jerry's, in which case, a little stomach cramp is well worth it.

They made us, threatened us and forced us to apply for graduation like last semester.

Man, I remember my first days as a freshman at Norwich. That was a very different experience. And now, I'm going to leave, and... find something besides school to do, which is scary.

Yep, it's pretty terrifying on this end, too.

But. The ice cream will help.

Ice Cream is always a good thing, as mentioned above.

Yes.

'Tis pity there isn't a Ben and Jerry's within a hundred miles of Athens. :(

It's such a weird feeling. I'm graduating this quarter too, and I'm having trouble imagining not being at school. (Well, there's always grad school, but not right away - that would be insane.) I mean, besides the obvious "and now what do I do with my life?" questions, most of us have been in some kind of school since we were five, so this is a huge change.

Ice cream is a good plan. (I have chocolate - same idea.)

Oh yeah--I'm planning on grad school, too, but not right away. Seventeen straight years of school has left me absolutely burned out on education.

And I'm going back to live at home for a year or so, too, so I don't know what I'm so worried about. *is a wuss*

I have chocolate, too, but it's at home and I am at the coffee shop, so. Ice cream it is!
