september and the trees are restless

No matter how much you love the subject, there is always something depressingly final about tearing the shrink-wrapping off a $105 French book.

Looks like there's no turning back now...

I guess it's the same for any expensive purchase you're forced to make. Now I just have to make sure I get my money's worth from French, and that requires me to work even more, and sometimes it's kind of hard to remember why I'm doing this... ;)

o.o I think there should be a new fear. Fear of Really Expensive College Books.

(But French! Yaaay! :D )

I'm sure there's a Greek root we could use to make that sound like the coolest fear ever.

Yay, French, indeed. :)

PUTAIN! Tu sais, l'année prochaine, j'te parlerai seulement en français-- mais en québécoise, et faire catastrophe de ton accent, n'importe l'origine. HOÉ. xD

Sympathies to the bookishly heavy spending. Can't say my books cost all that much, anymore. HA HA TAKE THAT EXPENSIVE AND RARE HARPSICHORD COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL. *photocopies all her scores at the library*

MERETRIX! FEMINA COCCI! EAS ET LAMBAS ALIQUID, PROMISCUA PUELLA!

Ha, I can call you whore and tell you to go lick something in Latin. Just don't check the grammar, because my grasp of the jussive subjunctive is shaky at best. :D

If you choose to speak with me in your silly language, you will get only "Je ne comprends pas" in return. Because I am pas bien at le francais. De tout. Huzzah for intentional franglais!

You have no idea how much piano music I've copied over the years. Almost every piece my teacher ever gave me was photocopied, and this went on for eight years. ;) I have three different versions of "My Heart Will Go On," and not one of them is an actual, licensed copy.

When I get around to taking Latin for my classical studies, will you promise to have insult shouting matches across the room with me? Because I think that would nicely cement our relationship. ... maudite putaine.

Also. THAT'S THE WAY TO DO IT, SISTAH. Except for the part where we're forbidden to take photocopies to exams; hastily remedied, of course, by "borrowing" books from the music library. HA HA HA. I mean. We always return them, damnit!

I would be honored to shout insults at you, amicam pravam meam.

Fortunately, I never had any trouble with the photocopies. In fact, I now have to bring photocopies of my beginning piano book to the first test, because the idiots at the bookstore didn't order enough copies for everyone. But we're playing Ode to Joy, one hand at a time, so it's not like I really even need the sheet music. *is so arrogant, oh mon dieu*

OMFG YES. And then they cancel your French class after you've thrown the receipt away.

I suggest that you bludgeon them to death with your useless French book.

And if it came with one of those instructional CDs that nobody ever uses, you could make that into a 'Riza plate throwing star and do even more damage!

And the $90 book-combo for the poli-sci class. (And the $130 spanish internet package...damn.)
