I pretty much agree with everything you've said here, mate. I actually really love this show for what it is, and I don't expect it to be something deeper, but I think it's basically hilarious (particularly Christian Cooke, everything he does makes me laugh myself silly because he's such a wonderful ponce) and I'm really starting to get interested in the plot.
The fools need to gtfo. They're wasting screen time that other people would make better use of. Pretty much every other character is engaging and I think they're nothing more than filler. Bad filler. More Dorian, Theo and Rosalind now, please.
It really is, essentially, just silly fun. I think that's my my problem with the fools. The whole show uses a lot of clichés but in terms of the characters there is usually something underpinning it - whether it's in the performance (like with Christian Cooke) or the character themselves. The fools, though, are just the worst parts of the show with none of the redeeming features
I agree. They're hinting at a darker story coming in later episodes and I have to wonder what part the fools could possibly play in that, since they don't between them even have enough depth to fill a teaspoon.
I find myself irritated when they're on screen because they're really just a waste. And the American one in particular needs to learn how to act.
