Well, the fateful day came when the young 6th grade students were to choose their destinies: band, orchestra, or choir. I chose band, originally intending to play saxophone. However, the controllers of the finances said that the renting process cost too much, and I would have to choose between the instruments my mother and uncles played (and kept around). I chose the flute because it was the least masculine of them all, and the rest is history.
