This is SO how I would have pictured Alistair in Hell- torturing Dean further, with the memory of Sam and John! So heartbreaking! But, it's such a great story! :D. Keep 'em coming!

“Dean, sweetheart. Just take the deal and all this could be over.” Her hand was soft and gentle against his cheek, just like he remembered. He said nothing. “All that pain? It will be someone else’s to take.”

“You remind me of John, you know that?” Alistair sounded almost wistful. “John Winchester… Now he was a canvas. So perfectly noble it was almost unbelievable.”

Oh, yes, yes, yes. Alastair bringing Dean's family into the torture is just one of my biggest beliefs. He had to have used them against him at every opportunity because family is everything to Dean.

Thank you so much for this, it's such a great picture of Dean fighting until he couldn't fight any more!

Yeah, Dean would for sure be dying from seeing everyone and knowing it wasn't real. I thought about adding in a bit with a flashback of John in his situation, but I feel like Dean would be picturing it in his head and that would be worse for him, not knowing what was done. :P

I think you are exactly right. Dean imagining what John went through in his place would be much worse than the actuality. I mean, Dean already knows what the reality of torture in hell is. Knowing and hearing that his father bore up better under it than he did had to have been shattering.

Something that always upset me is we never got to see any of Dean's time in hell besides the brief flashes in the begining of season 4. we've already seen more in the first episode of season 7 about Sam's time in hell. I WANT FLASHBACKS DAMNIT.

Also, I saw your comment above. Have you posted this to [info]alastairdean? I bet they'd love it there! [info]spn_dark_vault is also somewhere that this story would find a good home!

That's the alastairdean com I was talking about. And the dark_vault is much more active than that one. It's had twelve fics posted in the last few weeks while the last alastairdean one was in July. Don't let that fool you though. There's not nearly enough Dean/Alastair fic out there and they love to see more!
