i had a really lovely christmas this year. despite the fact that we had poor weather when i was expecting it to be warm (and thus brought my swimming costume instead of a cardigan) it was nice to just rest and have some down time with my family. on christmas eve, which is also my dad's birthday, we stopped at this nice restaurant in a country town ( Read more... )

thank you. :] & that's a really good question! if we're talking about books i've read before, in 2009 i re-read my favourite book ever which is on the road by jack kerouac, but aside from that the highlights for me would have to be finally reading lolita by vladimir nabokov, the dharma bums also by kerouac, and re-reading and really enjoying slaughterhouse five by kurt vonnegut because i didn't really get much out of it the first time around. the same could also be said for albert camus' the stranger which i liked a lot more this time, and i also really enjoyed the wild things by dave eggers and the little prince by antoine de-saint exupery, both of which i read for the first time in 2009.

okay, so that wasn't one favourite at all, sorry! hahaha.
