voice-casting, anyone?

So I've been thinking about this, in a semi-parallel to our previous casting discussion, on and off while rereading: every character in the novels has a distinct voice in my head- clearer than their actual physical characteristics, in fact- but I can't quite correlate them to people in real life. Who do you guys think everyone should sound like?

I hadn't seen that discussion- I agree with John Barrowman and Anthony Head, though!!! (both for physique as well as voice)

hmm, for which character? (i'm not particularly familiar with either of those choices, so.)

but he's been replaced in my mind by Aaron Douglas

Oh, yum. I agree!

usually if I pick the right physical actor, I can usually agree that their voice fits- this is how i work too, most of the time! it's just that it's easier for me to "hear" the SotT characters than it is to "see" them, for some reason.

Ya, the characters all have very distinct voices in my head too, and it makes trying to find voice actors for them insanely hard. >.< I've settled on Anthony Head for Ethan though, and this decision was made with much glee. As for the others though... *shrugs*

Also, good luck to whoever tries to find Bran's voice actor after the way Chandler described his accent. I believe she said something along the lines of it sounding "like nothing on earth".

hee, i'd forgotten about that line! in my head, Bran's accent is a particularly bastardized/partially unintelligible Irish one; kind of like Brad Pitt's in Snatch. i think that may be close enough? :D

.... Omg. I just watched a clip of that on Youtube... and omg. It was so hard not to lawl until my throat hurt. *giggles* I couldn't undertsand a word he was saying! *squees* I'm so amused right now. That is definately a well bastardized irish accent. And I should know.

I find it hard to come up with actors for the roles ... most of the ones I know are too old.

For Bran I imagine Sean Bean, who I remember from "Patriot Games". I think he was Irish in that.

There's a picture of Sean here. (I have to take off a few years to see him as Bran.)

Jeremy Irons would make a good Ethan ... I'm not really familiar with Anthony Head, apart from seeing him in a couple of Buffy episodes. I imagine Ethan to be leaner, somehow. Jeremy's voice is perfect to me.

I have problems with the others. I see and hear them clearly in my head, but can't think of any actors off-hand that match up.

ah, interesting pick for Bran! actually, when i first saw that picture, i thought he might make a passable Johnny, with a wee bit of aging/uglifying. *g* he and Ethan are particularly difficult to pin down for me.

i think i mentioned in that other discussion that i was leaning towards James McAvoy for Jeremy, and he seems to have stuck. go figure. :D

Mm. I'm not sure I like that picture of Sean Bean, but after watching the trailer for Patriot Games, he's growing on me rapidly for Bran. ^-^ It helps that he had short blonde hair in it as well. >.>

As for James MaAvoy... I dunno. He's just not working for me. *eyes him* Maybe I should look at some more pictures of him.

haha, i just had a thought- Paul Bettany for Bran, perhaps? the paleness is definitely there, and the skinniness.

Okay, now I'm going silly, trying to match actors with characters. ;D

I've only seen James McAvoy in "Atonement", so I don't have a good mind picture of him for Jeremy.

How about Jamie Bamber as Jeremy? I don't think I've seen him act in anything, but his pictures look nice! :D

And yes glass_icarus! I agree that Paul Bettany would be a very good Bran. Good choice!

ah, good point! my mental image of him is from Wanted, so that probably explains why he's so stuck in my head. *g* Jude Law is also still floating around in there, but... is he a bit too old for Jeremy now, perhaps?

and yes, Jamie Bamber is quite pretty. hmm.

OH MY GOD YES.

I seem to have developed caps locks syndrome, but nevermind. JAMIE BARBER IS MY JEREMY. *squees* I wasn't sure about the first picture, but I looked at the second one for literally one second before I came to squee. /That/ is the Jeremy in my head. Fu fu fu....

Now I can visualize both Jeremy and Bran. ^-^ This will make my perfectly innocent fangirl fantasies much easier...
