Double Down, The Annotated Edition

Remember how I produced the annotated edition of The Morning Star as a Christmas present for you guys, my dudes in teamtemplar? Sure you do! That was like three weeks ago!

Anyway, I indicated that I was interested in annotating the others, as I'd enjoyed putting the first one together--and sure enough, here's Double Down: The Annotated Edition, complete with ( Read more... )

I really enjoyed the first annotation, so I was excited to see that you've done the second book -- and so quickly. Thanks!

Gotta say, a few of the irrelevant bantery parts are rather fun, so I'm selfishly glad you didn't trim them. :-)

This was interesting to read. There were some little things I hadn't picked up on (like a lot of the stuff Jeremy was doing while they were in NYC), so thank you for that!

What's funny to me is some of the parts you ranted the MOST at included some of my favorite lines of the entire series.
But you didn't rant at this part, and it's the part that hits me hard every time I read He was okay while he changed into his sweatpants, and he was okay while he brushed his teeth and washed his face, and he was okay when he was looking askance at the fancy little box of chocolates that had appeared on his pillow while they were gone. He was okay climbing into bed and he was okay turning out the light, and then he lay back in the darkness and pulled up the covers and realized that he was not okay at all ( ... )

Hello - I just found this comm through your website (although I first read the novels about a year ago). I'm rereading them again now, and I love these annotated versions.

It's interesting what you said in 'Morning Star' about Mike's ethnicity and Team Templar being otherwise all-white. In my head Johnny and Sandra have always been black.

And I love Langridge! What you say about female characters is so true - especially in the action genre. But I loved that you made her an older woman too - again usually in the action genre the women we do see are 'hollywood beautiful' (notable exception being Judi Dench as 'M' in the newer James Bond Movies). But I love to see a woman showing her age, but still getting respect out of Simon (a hard job at the best of times).
