I saw this and thought of Simon and Jeremy...

I found this post on metafandom: Forgotten Dialects of the Heart. One part in particular reminded me of Simon and Jeremy, and the way their relationship doesn't fall into traditional patterns of romance:

I have discovered one of my most reliable kinks: characters who share a private language, who instead of falling back on "I love yous" and conventional ( Read more... )

Simon's attempts at denial! :D :D also, Jeremy's snarking, which is pretty much the cutest thing ever.

I heartily agree with the writer of that quote. ^^

As for Simon and Jeremy specifically, lessee... I their denials of affection (or rather, Simon's denials and Jeremy's non-committal evasions) say just the opposite. Also, their concern for each other's health&safety, despite mutual denial of the necessity of said concern, is a true and repeated sign they care.

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. ^^

I agree with the writer of that quote too. I can come up with at least one other pairing besides Simon/Jeremy that I feel that way about. :-)

And yes, there really is an element of "the lady doth protest too much" for both of them, isn't there? *grins*
