The days of being sick had all looped together for Wade. From taking Haylie to the clinic, to the nurse coming to his room, and to somehow ending up in the clinic himself--he couldn't remember how he'd gotten there. But as soon as he could, he bailed much to the nurses' dismay

It didn't occur to her that she probably should've just cancelled training and saved him the trip until he let himself in and made himself comfortable on her bed.

"Not really."

Her reply was dull, completely lacking it's usual flippant, sarcastic edge. She hadn't even bothered with a witty reply, or looking down at him while she laid there.

Haylie just... stared at the ceiling.

Ugh. She was going to make him dig for this, wasn't she? It was times like these when Wade's inner monologue told him he was stupid for giving a shit. And then he would remind his inner monologue it didn't necessarily mean he gave a shit, he just had nothing better to do, why not make use of the time? It was a lie.

Pulling himself into a sitting position, he blinked down at her. "Then what's the deal?"

"It actually hurts." She mused quietly, frowning before she glanced up at Wade.

"He chose Angel. I never really stood a chance." In the back of her mind, a part of her is screaming at her for telling this to Wade of all people. Like he'd even care. She really was an idiot.
