The Captain might just be right, though it pained Remy to admit it. The mission looked very straight forward. He and Wade would infiltrate the building, get the information and go. Remy had done hundreds of these in his career. He didn’t expect any problems ( Read more... )

If anything Wade was more than antsy because the amount of time it had taken the Cajun to go about things. Four days for a B&E? Really? But the mercenary wouldn't complain. It was four days away from the joke that had become their 'team'.

He followed along with Remy quietly, surprisingly, as they slipped about to where the filing cabinets were locked. When Remy told him to watch his back Wade rolled his eyes and moved to lean in the doorway.

"Oh doesn't this bring back memories. Next thing you know Captain Skittles is going to want us to break into the school district and change his SATs."

He chuckled softly under his breath, smoothly slipping the tools around in the lock until he heard the subtle click of a tumbler locking into place and then moved on to the next one.

"If he went ta school in Miami, I'd agree to dat mission."

Especially if they were given four days and could spend three blowing off steam. Wade was actually rather amusing when you got to know him. Remy grinned to himself when the last tumbler clicked into place and he opened the cabinet.

"Just have to get the data now and we're home free," he said, flicking through the files for the correct one.

"Are you kidding? Miami is way too crowded. Water's nice, and maybe a few nice girls here and there too, but it's not all it's cracked up to be-- like everything else, but trust me on that one."

He turned around to make sure that things were going smoothly with the cabinet and when he saw it was he pulled his eyes back to the hallway. So far he could hear just about nothing much less see anything that could possibly put them in the red.

Wade gave a light snort, pulling the tanto from his side and twirling it idly in his hand. "Like taking government checks from a retard."

He looked over his shoulder at Wade, an eyebrow raised. "And where would ya go? New York?"

When he found the right files he pulled them out and slid them into the photograph canister he had brought with them for the mission then tucked it back under his jacket. He made sure to lock the cabinet once it was closed. He didn't want to leave any obvious signs.

"De government is imbécile. Come on, let's make dis quick."
