Arrival - Military Presence - OTA
As soon as the paperwork was finished, Sgt. Barq was put on a helicopter and flown to Washington. She didn’t as questions about why they were rushing her to Fort Wenachee. If they wanted her there as soon as possible, she would be there. No one could miss her arrival. The helicopter circled the camp first while the pilot waited for permission to land, giving her plenty of time to get the layout of the place.
It looked like every other fort she had ever been to, but down there she knew there was an emergency situation brewing. She didn’t know what made this team so special. If any other team, mutant or not, had broken as many rules as this group had they would’ve been arrested and left to rot in military prison. Whatever was going on with this team, Jen knew it had to be big and top secret. It wasn’t her place to question these things though. She was there to do a simple job, help Captain Sykes and that’s what she would do.
Finally, the pilot had permission and the helicopter touched down on the pad. Jen grabbed the single large pack of her belongings she had been allowed to bring and jumped out, ducking low to stay underneath the blades. She only straightened when the helicopter took off.
Standing on her own near the helicopter pad, Jen watched it go wondering if she was ready for this and knowing she didn’t have a choice.
