Locked in a cage *OTA, nudge to family members*

The first sensation Daken realized when he groggily woke up was feeling cold. His shirt had been shredded in the fight with Logan and the girl with the white stripes in her hair, and he doubted if his enemies had been courteous enough to replace it. His last memory had been of claws at his throat and fingers on his forehead. Just what had that girl ( Read more... )

It was guilt that prompted her visit.

Angel hadn't seen the fight. She only heard about it after. But when she heard that Rictor was attacked for what happened in Japan, she was beside herself. Rictor was the one most people blamed but Angel was there. She knew what really happened. She knew it was her that initiated the killing. She was the one that told Rictor to take down the building. It was her fault he had a breakdown and lost control of his powers.

She really thought going back to the states would allow them to put all that behind them but their troubles followed.

And that poor guy. He must have had friends or family in Japan for him to risk so much to hurt the person he believed was at fault. Now he was locked up. Granted, he was homicidal and needed to be but she still felt horrible.

Waiting until the others were gone, Angel quietly crept closer to his cell. There was no point in trying to hide in the shadows. Flaming red hair didn't camouflage well. Still, she didn't want to startle him. "Hello?" She whispered.

"I know you're there," Daken replied, sounding snappish and irritable. He'd been able to smell Angelica as soon as she had entered the brig. Between the perfume, lotions, soap, hair products, her scent was like a walking beauty salon. It was giving him the wonderful start of a headache.

She smelled like a real girly girl and the face that appeared at the window was no disappointment. After all the testosterone-fueled men and that one insane girl, it was a relief to have someone normal on the other side of the glass. Some of the anger in Daken's eyes went out. "Out of all the visitors I've gotten, you certainly are the prettiest."

In this team, getting snapped at was a pretty regular thing. She barely noticed anymore.

However, his compliment made a blush rush to her cheeks and her words hard to get out. "I... thank you. Though I'm not so sure Captain Syke isn't giving me a run for my money." She chuckled a bit at her own joke then glanced around nervously until she knew how to proceed. She was kicking herself for not practicing this a little more before coming in here.

"Are... are you okay? You don't look too hurt but what do I know? You could be. I heard about what happened. I can't imagine getting in a fight with Logan and not getting hurt. Anyway, sorry. I ramble. D..do you need anything? They're treating you okay, right?"

"I doubt his figure is half as good as yours." Daken knew how not to be a complete and utter asshole when he wanted to. But there had been no reason for him to change his tune up until now. But a bit of flirting might help him out in the long run, if he ever was allowed to leave this cell again.

A girly girl with a bleeding heart. At any other time, Daken would have been groaning at her ill-placed concern. But he could play the wounded animal card with the best of them. "I've taken worse hits than that." He made a point of looking down and letting his shoulders sag, the picture of looking hopeless. "As well as can be expected without food or water."
