His hat had taken quite the battering during the quake but at least it was still in one piece which was more than John could have hoped for after realising he's left it inside. Sat at one of the tables John was watching the soldiers fussing about outside as they removed the last of the rubble, he watched Nicky as he entered and smiled a little.

"You keep growin' like that an' you're gonna end up taller than the rest of us kid."

Nicky smiled over at John trying to ignore all the soldiers. "Yeah, probably not soon though. You hungry too?"

He slipped his hands into the pockets of his pants.

"Nah just here to enjoy the coffee and keep out of the way. Done my share of hauling rubble for the day if I'm honest though no doubt I'll end up going back to do more later."

Tapping his mug John shook his head, "You hungry though? I think they've still got some things left over from breakfast."

Nicky nodded,"Yeah, that makes sense."

"I could eat. Of course I can always eat,"he smiled,"Sounds good."

Jack lit a cigarette out of a pack he had forced one of the grunts to give up to him. He'd be so glad when they could leave this godforsaken country. Every time he came to it, something bad happened. The hunter shouldn't have been surprised this time, yet he was. He nodded distractedly at Nicky, more out of habit than anything else.

"Hey Jack,"Nicky gave him a small smile while Razzi danced around the hunter's feet. Both boy and dog liked the man even if not many of the others did.

Jack reached over and scratched behind the dog's comically large ears. He didn't smile, but the tense look on his face had lessened slightly. "You doin' alright after that quake?"

"Doing ok. It was a little scary though,"he looked over at Jack carefully. "Are you ok?"

Razi danced happily around letting Roy pet him. The dog liked anyone Nicky didn't mind. "We're good. Just got hungry and came for something to eat."

He gave him a small smile he hadn't liked Roy too much in the beginning but he was an ok guy.
