By the time Rogue's feet touched ground, she was close to collapsing. She'd taken the quickest route, straight across America, over the North Pacific ocean and into Asia. It'd been the more logical at the time, instead of having the option to stop over Europe and take longer, she'd just pushed herself to keep going

Excuse me? Are you alright?

It was tiring work, flying across continents, and this was only the second time she'd done it. Ms Marvels endurance came in handy sometimes.

And to keep Rictor from getting into trouble with that. "Y'know where the Major is?"

Heading outside to (as always) dig his feet down into the loose dirt and earth in his new favourite spot beneath the trees, he spotted someone kneeling down, head bowed forward as if simply unable to move due to exhaustion. Shoving his cigarettes back into his jacket pocket Ric strode over to where the young lady knelt but it was only as he drew close enough that he realised she looked remarkably familiar.
His step faltered and Ric stopped barely a two feet away from her.
"R... Ruby?"

"Hey sugah." Her voice was low, tentative. She just stood up straight, pushing her hair from her face and remaining right where she was, "How...how've y' been?"
It'd been a month or so, he didn't look terrible, he looked okay, better than she felt, but still.

Had she not been a woman and had Ric been less of a man he would have punched her. Instead he kept his distance, watching Rogue carefully. She looked exhausted, drained and all he really wanted to do was pull her into his arms and prove to himself she was real.
Maybe Martini wasn't the one going insane? Maybe it was Ric.
"I'm... alright. You?"

She wanted to explain, to tell him why, but it all just felt like excuses. Her mothers had needed her, Irene couldn't do it on her own and Raven was locked up, tortured. She had to go. But she could've told him.
Her gaze didn't falter from him, not at all. He didn't look too bad, a little rough, but then he usually looked rough. "Anything excitin' goin' on?" New camp, new people probably. Maybe more than just her having been gone.

When Rogue touched down like an angel out of the blue sky, Martini refused to believe it. "No." He backed up, eyes full of fear. Not again. His mind was showing him someone who wasn't there again. That's what it was. He never for a moment considered the fact that Marie really was back. "No no no no no!"

"Darlin' y' okay there? Y' don't gotta run 'way from me, 'tini, sugah." No; that fear was what told her this wasn't a normal reaction. She knew his Things, knew how cruel they could be at times. It made her hope it wasn't her.
"Marti...Mark?"

He just collapsed in a heap on the ground, not able to try and fight what he was convinced his mind was tormenting him with. He shut his eyes, shaking a little as he muttered to himself. "Not real....can't be....not again...."

"What's not real, sugah? What ain't happening?" Even as she looked around, knowing that she wouldn't be able to find anything, she wished that he had it a little easier. "It's okay darlin', ain't nothing gonna hurt ya. Ah won't let 'em."

As he was about to go back inside and cool down with an ice-cold soda, he noticed someone in the middle of the camp. He did not give the girl in the distance that much thought until he saw a streak of white in her hair.
"Oh ma gawd..."
Fred broke into a run and was glad Victor was not around to see the sight, because despite the fact that he still could run, it was a silly sight indeed. But right now he hardly cared.
"Rogue??" he called out as he ran toward her.

Brushing herself off, unbuttoning the collar of her long coat, she threw her bag over her shoulder and trudged on, fighting down that tiredness. "Hey there, sugah. Ya miss me?"
She knew she could joke with Fred, if he was annoyed, he'd tell her, and she'd apologise and they'd be fine. She hoped.

"Hey," he said, giving a careful grin. He walked with her, feeling foolish for making a spectacle of himself. He was happy to see her. More than happy. Overjoyed.
"Yeah, maybe," he said answering her question of whether or not he had missed her. Of course he had. But he was afraid to say exactly how much. "Just a little bit." He eyed her luggage.
"You need help with that?" he asked, forgetting about her strength.

She liked Fred, he was a good friend, a great friend. His appearance seemed to bother him more than it bothered a lot of people though, and Rogue couldn't really understand why.
Although she had her own vain streak, she didn't truly understand it.
"But Ah kind'a thought Ah'd get a hug hello?"

Fine had a very loose definition in Lousianna it seemed. She struggled to her feet, shoulders dropped down and head tilting to the side, another new one? Stryker had to be stealing them from somewhere.
"Hey there."

It helped, although she wouldn't feel herself until a good night and day rest or sleep, and then maybe some food. "Ah'm from a little bit of everywhere," with Irene and Raven, she'd travelled a fair little bit, "but Ah'm a Mississippi girl at heart."
Which was also where she'd gotten her accent, "Name's Rogue, darlin', pleasure t' meet'cha." She would've offered her hand, if she wasn't wary of contact even through her gloves.
