Restless-OTA

Nicky was pacing through the halls his whole body wound tight. Weeks of stress had the young feral worked up. Everything in him kept building slowly turning the normally calm boy into a emotional mess. After everything that had happened in the camp he needed some kind of pressure release something to settle him down. He'd tried watching tv but ( Read more... )

John heard the noise of frustration and wondered who on earth was pacing the corridors enough to potentially leave a dent in the floor. Sticking his head out of the mess hall John immediately saw Nicky and stepped out into the hall, not blocking him if he wanted to continue pacing but making it obvious he was there to talk.

"Hey Nicky what's got you so worked up?" John would admit he was a little concerned to see the kid so tense, he liked Nicky and knowing how much change there had been lately in camp couldn't have been easy on him. Or any of the others for that matter.

Nicky looked up spotting John in the hall. He stopped his pacing though the tension in him was still obvious. "Hey John. It's nothing well everything. People coming and going. Fights and people getting locked up."

He sighed shrugging a bit. Nicky knew if he kept talking it would all just spill out of him.

Leaning back against the wall john sighed softly. "It ain't been much fun round here lately has it? Look you want to head out to the shootin' range with me? Get your mind off of bein' cooped up in this place?"

"Might help if you take out your stressin' on targets rather than the floor." John smiled trying to show that he too knew that it hadn't been the best environment to live in lately.

"No fun at all. Maybe the shooting range would help some,"he shrugged.

Nicky thought maybe getting to attack something would help him feel better. "Thanks John."

Logan had taken a long overdue shower and was headed to the mess for some food when he ran into Nicky. While not always the most perceptive of people, Logan was pretty sensitive to the emotions of the ones he cared about, and it was obvious that something was bothering Nicky. There was no point in beating around the bush; no time for useless greetings.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, everything,"he sighed clenching and unclenching his fists. He looked at his uncle unsure of how he was doing. "You ok?"

Nicky knew that Emma hadn't been the only one to disappear when the others left.

Logan just nodded. He'd already decided he didn't care about Jean anymore (one of these days, he'd manage to convince himself), and he certainly wasn't going to dump his problems on a little boy. "They let me out." The words came out slightly hollow. Obviously being locked up hadn't been his biggest problem, but he figured it should be enough to satisfy Nicky.

The way the boy was moving was so full of tension, it was threatening to rub off on Logan. Nicky needed to calm down, before someone got hurt. "Talk to me, kid. What is it?"

"Dad getting into fights, dad getting locked up, then a huge wave leaving and you getting locked up,"he shook his head. Things had been building up for some time but that was the most recent of events.

She was wandering. Okay, so the technical term was probably breaking and entering but it wasn't as though she was stealing. She wasn't even touching anything. She was just trying to get her bearings. In her head, she had this idea to make a big meal for everyone but with so many different palettes she thought it better to ask around. Unfortunately, the people around this place seemed to stay very much to themselves. She'd been there almost a week and only actually met a few people.

That was why she took it upon herself to go poking. Angel never would have thought she'd run into a child. "Oh!" She squeaked looking back and forth down the hallway. "How did you get here?"

"The same way everyone else did,"Nicky looked over the newcomer. He didn't have any idea how long she'd been in the camp but he was sure it couldn't have been too long. He figured she came to fill some of the space left by the departures that had happened. Nicky tried to calm himself down not wanting to give her any advantages over him.

"You're part of the team?" She asked surprised. But he was just a little boy. Even younger than when she was first recruited. That couldn't be right. That wasn't right. That was sick. "Where are your parents?"

"Yeah I'm part of the team,"he nodded. Her reaction made him a little cranky but he was getting used to it.

"Where are yours?"
