Delay Tactics (OTA)

Nori seriously couldn't put this off any longer. When she and her team had returned from the mission, she'd reported to Stryker and did her best to hide the damage done to her gauntlet. And then she did what she could to hide her over-charged stress from everyone else. She avoided people she considered family, people like Ric and Martini and ( Read more... )

Bradley was a light sleeper by nature, and hadn't been doing too well since the mission to boot, so it was no surprise when he found himself somewhere in that sluggish place between being fully awake and sleeping. His mind wide open to the electrical signals that occasionally drifted across, usually just the blip of various lights going on and off around the compound. But then an enormous charge made his fluttering eyelids snap fully awake. He knew that signal by heart now.

Slipping out of his room, leaving the softly snoring wolf in the other bed behind, he walked through the halls until he spotted a familiar blue head of hair. Sparks were coming off her fingertips, and Bradley's brow furrowed in concern. She didn't have her gauntlets on, and the signal in his head was spiking, almost out of control. "Nori?"

Oh, damn. Nori turned to face Bradley, moving faster than usual to do so. It wasn't an accident. She was moving that way to hopefully shake off the excess energy little by little. It didn't work, at least not in any fashion she noticed.

And she was hurting just s little bit. She looked at her feet a moment, frowning before turning her eyes towards Bradley again.

"Mygauntletwasdamaged," she said, trying hard to pace her wording to no avail.

She really hoped he understood that. The other gauntlet seemed set on not working all that well either. Not without its other, it seemed. This distressed Nori.

It took him a moment or two to understand just what Nori was rapidly saying, but when he did, Bradley went straight past concern into straight out worry. He could feel the amounts of electricity radiating off her. She'd blackout the entire compound if she wasn't careful. "How long has this been going on?"

As he asked, Chris tried to reach out psychically and tweak her gauntlet. But without its mate, the sole remaining one was being overloaded too quickly to process the energy. This was not good, in any way, shape, or form.

Nori shrugged once, twice, a third time. She was delaying, that much was obvious. And she felt bad for delaying but really this was her issue. Bradley shouldn't worry.

Then again, she had been avoiding him and every other family figure she had around here so...

"Sincethemissions. Itgotshot."

There. No big deal. She just needed the blue pill in the medbay and she'd be fine.
