Kevin had declined the offer of help to get him from the medlab to his room. Milbury was a little creepy in that eyes-in-the-back-of-the-head way and Kevin was pretty sure he would have only called one of the skulking MP's to do the job anyway...
Really, Kevin just didn't want to deal with it. With the looks. He'd get them soon enough. For right now being alone was perfectly fine with him--it was practically his M.O. anyway. He could deal with a little bit of pain as a consequence. It had come a long way.
The walk to the dorms was taken slowly and Kevin kept close to the wall in case he needed its support. He didn't have anything to carry except the sketchpad and book that Pyro had gotten for him; his own bag had burned in the Jeep crash. He'd been told issued clothes (long sleeved layers, he'd insisted) would brought to his room for him. Gloves as well, though Kevin was sure that he wouldn't like them and would have to find new ones on his own to replace what he'd lost

Roaming around the camp had been good for a number of reasons, and Edison was glad he'd done it, but tiredness from travel stress was finally building up. Heading back to his room, he mentally reviewed the day, thinking about the bottle of water and one of the energy bars in his kit.
Pausing outside the closed door, he noticed light under the poorly fitting jam. He'd turned the light off when he left.
The snap on his gun holter was flicked open but he didn't grip the weapon. It was purely a better safe than sorry instinct.
He pushed the door open.
Apparently, he did have a room mate, after all

Kevin watched Edison with sharp eyes as he moved--and only relaxed when the other man stayed clearly on his own side of things. He gave another small shrug. "I don't know much about military or government to tell you the truth. Xavier's was pretty much the opposite of anything like that." He rubbed his nose with a gloved finger--synthetic, pretty thick but necessarily supple so that he could do stuff... it had taken a while, finding the right gloves.
Edison was wearing gloves.
Kevin pushed himself a little more upright, looking at his new roommates hands. He opened his mouth (I can kill you, stay away always warning Number One) and then closed it. Edison was just sitting there. Didn't look ready to jump or anything. Kevin worked a bit of skin off his lip with his teeth before opening his mouth a second time. "Those just a fashion statement or what

Jesus Christ, maybe the guy was a lunatic. Sure, Kevin didn't sleep walk but there were a million could happen scenarios--he oughta know, since he'd gone through all of them over and over again. He'd been told some of them over and over again in whispers behind his back or disgusted tones of excuse for broken dates and moved roomies
