"Let me see if I understand. I don't hear from you in months... MONTHS, Betsy. We were beginning to think you were dead again. I had to hear about your return from someone else. That whole thing with the Sisterhood and then you just disappear. Finally, you call AFTER Christmas and you tell me you are in Russia. What's in Russia? Why are you there?"

Her brother sounded upset and he had reason to be. )

By now, Ophelia was used to the strange fleeting emotions that lingered around people and places. It was fascinating at times, and she could spend hours staring at walls. But right then, she was surprised at the depth. Sometimes they were just these little fleeting things; a little remorse, a little lust -there was a good bit of that around here. There was also lots of anger and that stifling, cloying, suffocating vengeance that she wanted to avoid.

This; this feeling, was new.

Ophelia stood, having found the source of things, and stared at the woman. How strange. "What's cooking, good looking?"

Slowly her eyes drifted up to the odd looking woman as she slowly closed her phone. She didn't jump in surprise but her face looked tired and distracted like she really wasn't paying attention.

"Uh, no. I'm not cooking anything. I haven't even been to the kitchen." She replied keeping her voice soft.

Pfft; no worries. Things happen. mad_asahatter December 30 2009, 10:03:31 UTC
Hmm; people rarely took her literally, a change in tactic perhaps was needed. "See that clear, but what's wrong dear? Feeling down, what makes the frown?"

With her head tilted to one side, Ophelia tired to figure it out, and failed. This was complex it seemed.

Betsy glanced up. The girl was rhyming. Well, that was a first. She could see that getting annoying rather quickly.

Even if she wanted to go into the vast explanation, she was almost positive the redhead wouldn't understand. No one ever did. Hell, she wished she didn't. So instead she gave the girl a shrug. "Family."
