Children everywhere. [OTA]

Amanda peeked out of her door, frowning as she looked around. She'd spotted some children running about earlier and she had been completely flummoxed. Why were their children running about? Had the base suddenly decided to have Take Your Child to Work Day? Sliding out her door, Amanda brushed her hand back through her hair and looked around before ( Read more... )

Laura had eaten. She'd gone to train. She'd try to continue the day as though nothing had occurred. As though she didn't wake up a child when she'd gone to bed an adult the night before. It was hard for her, though. Out of all of the kids there, she was the only one not playing.

She didn't really know how to play and that was fine by her, Really. She sat apart from a group of kids, listening to them argue over someones poker hand.

Somehow, the idea of a group of kids whose feet barely touched the floor playing poker struck Laura as odd.

Her sharp blue eyes rested on Amanda for a moment before she slid off of her bench and made her way over, her head tilted slightly. This was a new face and a relatively kind one, at that.

"Have you been affected by the change in camp?" she asked the woman.

Amanda watched the groups, her brow furrowed slightly. They really weren't acting like normal children would. How many children played Texas Hold'em?

Glancing down as a young woman approached her and spoke, her eyebrows lifted before she shook her head. "No. No I haven't. There's been a change, hmm? What's happened?"

Laura sniffed the air slightly, eyes looking from person to person before she looked at Amanda. She remained thoughtful and quiet as she processed the information that slight sniff had given her.

"It appears as though something has affected peoples ages. Not everyones, however." Case in point, the woman she was speaking to.

"I appear to have been regressed to, at the very youngest, somewhere around eight years old but that is wrong." Laura shook her head at the end of the statement, frowning. "What is your name?"

Watching the girl sniff, not unlike she did herself when she was a feline. She thought about what the girl had said and she hummed softly beneath her breath. "I see. Well, clearly. I'm unaffected."

She blinked before she smiled and extended her hand. "Amanda. Amanda Sefton. You are?"

Brian was seated at a table, his tray piled very high. Probably too high, but his seventeen year old metabolism was kicking his ass. He always ate more than the average person, but this was bordering on gross.

He pulled back the wrapper on a muffin and ate half of it in one bite, smiling to himself. He'd wanted cake, but muffins were close enough. Basically cake without the frosting.

He was chewing quickly, then his jaw slowed. And slowed a little more. And even more, until it was hanging open. He stared at the blonde who'd just walked into the Mess like she was cake. Swallowing quickly, he shoved his entire tray into the garbage, polished off the last of his juice, and loped over to cut off her path with a grin.

Seventeen year old hormones were a bitch, especially when it was a guy with a flirty nature anyway. "Hey there," he said, clearing his throat when his voice squeaked a little on the H.

Amanda's eyebrows raised as the young man walked over and grinned at her. She didn't know this particular member of the team, so she tilted her head and gave him a winning smile back.

"Hallo." she answered, her accent soft. "You haven't seen Major Stryker around, have you, by any chance?" It was a long shot, but in the very least she could ask.

He was doing everything in his power to keep his eyes on her face. He really was. He was failing miserably, but it was a valiant effort on his part. She was pretty. He was seventeen. These were two things combining to make her boobs seem to be magnets with his eyes polar opposite charge.

Then she smiled, and he felt like he'd lost a little blood flow to his head. Then she spoke, and she had an accent. Brian let out a little, "uhhhhh" before he cleared his throat again. "No, no Stryker. Nope." He grinned at her again, a little bit of a glazed look in his eye. "What's your name?"

Well, alright. He was certainly male. His eyes had drifted down to her chest and she lightly cleared her throat to try and drag his attention upwards. Glad when she recaptured it, she kept the smile on and then her shoulders dropped a little. Damn.

"Amanda. What is yours?"
