The name game

Nov 15, 2009 16:11

Scion was not given access to his files. He knew there was a good chance that he wouldn't , but now it had been confirmed. The man wasn't happy about it, but he didn't complain. He knew he couldn't , it wasn't in his programming to. However he was given a name. Keller. Keller. A name that he was told was given to him by the scientists that created ( Read more... )

Victor raised an eyebrow as he entered the small library, glancing over at the other man with interest; he'd seen him around the compound but hadn't really met him yet. Looked like he was a druggie, too. Great. None of his business, though; he just shrugged as he reached up and grabbed a book on firearms, seeing as he'd just finished reading one about hand-to-hand combat. People tended to think he was an uneducated animal, but the truth was he was more well-read than they'd think, even if his reading did tend to consist of military textbooks and survival manuals.

Banshee, a drug that was made to strengthen a mutants mutation or give powers to a normal human. Since Scion was young he had been put on a regiment of receiving doses of Banshee to further improve on his mutation, over the years it had become more constant his dosage on the drug growing ( ... )

It was nice and quite in the library. Martini liked it in here, among the stacks of books. That, and the fact most of the team weren't keen on reading. A shame really. Those poor heathens. But at least it was easier on his eyes. He had been sitting in the shelves, scanning a book on occupation tactics employed in the South Pacific during World War II when he heard a noise. Marking his place in the book, he peered around the shelf, he saw Scion there, injecting something into his arm. Drugs? Huh, he never would have suspected the clean cut weapon of that.

The flair of his mutation thanks to the banshee, Scion threw his head back. He sucked a quick breath in through his teeth, wincing in pain as the onslaught of thoughts rushed at his mind. He was breathing heavily, the sere of pain blinding him momentarily. The surge of his mutation was over soon however, leaving him panting heavily as he clutched the desk for support. Sweat curled beneath his brow, the man yanking the needle from his arm before he placed it back in the case. His breath was steady, his eyes flickering to the bookshelf where Martini was, blue eyes meeting the time manipulators.

"......Martini."

He muttered, closing the case before he ran his hands back through his hair letting out a shaky breath.

Martini's eyes went a little wide upon seeing Scion's reaction to the banshee. He had seen similar reactions in the homeless druggies back in Los Angeles, but nothing quite like the reaction of the mutant with the glowing eyes before him before him. He crept out from the bookshelf, wondering if Scion was alright, breaking the other mutant's eye contact.

"Wow. That's some gnarly shit you have going on there."

"It is required of me." He replied, Martini looking away and Scion followed the process as well looking in the opposite direction. His fingers curled at his neck, beads of sweat rolling upon the digits as he shoved the black medical case away from him. Sometimes he really hated using that thing. "For my training."

Nicky headed into the library. He didn't often go in there unsure of himself in a place full of books. While he'd been taught to read, write, and basic math, usually involving money, so that he might blend into a city education of that kind had never really been party of the plan for him. What little knowledge he'd gathered since those lessons had been taught to him by Jason late at night when they were supposed to be sleeping.

He froze when he spotted Scion there with the needle. He didn't want to interrupt him but he did want to see what there was available that he would understand.

"You may go ahead Nicky."

Scion replied, not looking up from his needle as he pushed it in to his arm.

"It is fine."

The weapon flinched, closing his eyes as the rest of the banshee was forced in to his veins. He growled, the muscles in his neck tensing considerably as telekinetic energy sparked around him. He could hear all the voices rushing at him and he shook his head, his shoulders quivering as he fought for control of the power rush.

He watched her worriedly he didn't really know Scion well but he didn't like anyone to hurt. Nicky nodded though and started to look through the various shelves to see if there was anything might interest him. He slowly worked his way down looking carefully he hated picking up a book only to find out he had no idea what was going on.

Scion pulled the needle from his arm, giving a slow shaky breath as he did so. His eyes were sparking with energy , the man folded his needle back in to the case letting, cracking his neck after he did so. He sighed, sitting back in the chair as he let the energy and peak of his power flow through him, the man slowly began to tune out the voices from his head.
