Kickin' up the Snow [open]

Arriving at the base in Russia wasn't exactly high up there on Holly's 'fun times abroad' list. She only had a list of one experience and this was it. They took me out of Vegas, she thought, for this? Impressed, she wasn't. But then, what choice did she have ( Read more... )

*Rogue was busy shifting her belongings into her room; although the was a little put out that she had been split up from Rictor. She spotted the girl as she was making her last trip to her assigned room. More recruits? Stryker needed more?*

Hey there, ya need something, sugah?

"Oh, hey," Stripes in the hair, smile on the face. She looked a little skittish, but Holly just went with it. "Know where I can find a guy named Stryker?"

Down the hall, out the side, near the armoury -directly opposite the garage. Holly already knew where she would end up, the faces she'd meet along the way, fun enough.

Getting there was always fun.

Yeah, you just need t' go along that corridor, outside and to y'r left. It's beside the armoury Ah think?

*Rogue slipped a strand of hair behind her ear, a slightly nervous gesture as she offered a brief smile.*

Ah'm Rogue. Um, the girls dorms are down that way, and there should be a door just past there to take you outside, it's pretty cold, so...wrap up?

*For some reason, Rogue still managed to make a statement sound like a question.*

Holly just nodded at her, pointing a thumb towards herself; "I'm Holly, pleasured I'm sure." She knew enough to know that the girl was friendly, the smile and welcoming look in her eye enough to say so without her powers.

But that didn't mean Holly had to put on the face. "So, head honcho is out there again? Fabu. I love the cold." Pulling the hood of her jacket up, Holly started walking again.

"Thanks for that Rogue; I'll be sure to remember those layers that you've got down." Russia, woo. Maybe she should've snagged some more clothes before being bumped on that plane.

*Victor noticed the new arrival as she made her way through the gates; she was young, female, and considerably attractive. He always had a habit of noticing those ones first. He watched her as she drew closer, trying to pick out her scent - damn, but the colder weather made it much harder to identify people by their smell, especially with all the cold wind blowing flakes of snow everywhere.*

There was a smirk on her face as the scene unravelled before her eyes. Oh, wow. Eyebrow raised, she hadn't encountered anything like that since high school and the time the basketball team got dosed with X.

She just kept on the path, knowing that if something needed changing, she'd see it. Problem with seeing was that she didn't hear. It would've been nice to get the heads up on that one.

*He just watched her as she walked by a short distance away, staying where he was but following her with his eyes; she might have been reminded of a trip to the zoo, walking past the enclosures that housed the big cats and having them stare right at her, knowing they were caged.*

She wondered mildly which course of action he'd take. Although she was very against a few of them, specifically the ones where she ended up dead -because that just killed the mood for the rest of the day.

Big cat was right, she hated the zoo most times, but this one didn't even have bars on the cages. What kind of nut-cases was she thrown in with? The staring and waiting got on her nerves, and it was just a shit case that she had to be the one to determine the course.

Stopping and turning, she raised an eyebrow towards him and opened her palms in gesture. "What!?"

*Dukes was outside enjoying the fresh air when he saw one of the new arrivals. A woman. Could it be the new recruit Mortimer had emailed him about? He did mention that she was attractive...

Then again, this girl was yet another redhead, and Fred was more than a little biased. Uncertain of drectly introducing himself, he merely stood in plain sight. Hell, he could be hiding and still be in plain sight.*

*sigh*

Of course, it wasn't like Holly could miss anything. And if she avoided the big guy, well, that didn't look all that fun. Man, she hated those MPs already.

"Hey, big guy, wanna give a doll a helping hand?" She knew where she was going, everything had mapped out in her head, but that didn't mean she couldn't take her own sweet time following it. "Rogue gave me directions, but I'm not a great navigator.

How do I find Stryker from here?" Even as she spoke, she pulled her jacket tighter around herself. Cold weather and her didn't mix all that well.

*She was speaking to him? Willingly?*

Uh... hi.

*Ignore the hair, fuckwit.*

It's... *he lifted a hand, gesturing in a general direction*

... down the way. Next door to the armory.

Oh, my, god. She'd thought that guys moved out of that awkward 'can't talk to girls' phase when puberty hit. And by the looks of him, puberty was a while ago. "Well thanks."

It took her a minute to watch things, to anyone else, she was just standing there, eyebrow quirked up and her gaze slightly off. "You know, if you tried to pretend you had some confidence, people would like you more."

Was it a little brash? Maybe, but Holly was nothing if not direct.

*Nicky had headed inside tugging on the thermal items and then the new clothes before rushing back outside. Razi had climbed up in bed with Jason to snuggle under the blankets so he was alone staring at this new place.*

Woah, midgets!

It was her first basic thought, until she realised that actually, it was a child. Well damn, they were starting them young, weren't they.

She'd known that it would be an eclectic group she joined. But kids? Holy fuck.

Laura was carrying the last of the bags into the building, her typical expression on her face. She looked apathetic towards the whole thing. She watched the others as they unloaded, waiting to see if anyone needed help with anything. Nori zipped past, an electric blue blur that Laura didn't seem to notice.

What she did notice, however, was the new girl. Laura handed the bag to one of the npc soldiers passing before heading over.

"Hello," she said with a brief smile on her face. The smile looked a little awkward. She wasn't used to it just yet and it showed.

"You are new."

"Yup, that obvious?" Holly figured that with a group of mutants, a group she didn't know the size of, she might've been able to slip past undetected. Looked like that was a no go.

"Just pulled in; you're not?" It wasn't a terribly awkward exchange, despite the apparent awkwardness of the other girl. Holly had seen more awkwardness.

Laura shook her head. So far this girl was interesting. She didn't bother her like other new faces did.

"No. I have been with the team for months. What is your name?"

"I'm Holly." Stilted; that what the girl was. Like socially awkward or something. And Holly wondered why.

Seeing things work out rather comfortably, Holly offered a small smile, it wasn't like she needed to be frozen just because of Russia. "And you are?"
