My last job was a temp assignment that ended and no amount of calling every week with HEY GAISE ANY JOBS AVAILABLE/I'M AVAILABLE has turned up the goods.

fffff

Yea. I got close to a job a couple weeks back but I guess that fell through. Meanwhile I'm trying to do at least five job applications per week.

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when you resent being able to play video games/be on the internet all day.

My last job was last summer selling knives for Cutco. ITS A FREAKING SCAM OK THAT'S WHY I QUIT. I made about $60 in made up appointments before I quit though.

For some reason, my university would not hire me last year for a work study even though I was qualified for $3000. :(

Work study pissed me off. My family's EFC or whatever fell every year, and they kept offering me less and less until they decided I wasn't eligible for it anymore. Which didn't make any sense. -_-

Wow, I know they usually front load grant money and stuff, but I didn't know they would do that with work study.
My family's EFC rose this year and somehow I qualified for $500 more work study? It probably doesn't matter because my school won't hire me anyway :|

I did that stupid Cutco thing. I did get a set of them fancy schmancy knives. From attending one of their brainwashing conferences.

Will admit they are damn good knives though.

My last job was an IT help desk at my college. Said college is in New Jersey, and I just graduated. And I live in Conencticut. Nuff said. Lol.

I loved the people, but I hate answering phone calls of angry computer illiterate people...

Oh man, oh man. I did this for a while in college...

ME: Okay, so you left-click...
THEM: With this mouse thing?
ME: YES WITH THE MOUSE THING!
THEM: The right button or the left button?
ME: kjrhgsjkfgkjshf

...God, I would not want to repeat that experience. you have my sympathy.

I am always amazed at how computer illiterate some people are. It's like I keep telling myself my "proficiency" at computers isn't anything to write home about, but then when I'm on temp assignments I'm always hit with someone not knowing something very basic about the MS Office suite or the internet.

Yeah I worked at UCLA's computer lab as a student and now I'm trying to get a helpdesk job somewhere (preferably another school) but it's failing. I guess 3 years of helping people with Photoshop and Word doesn't really convince anyone I have experience.

Technically my last one was a seasonal freelance type thing though the one before that I was a carhop for Sonic(lots of tip money and exercise). I was fired from that job when a secret shopper mistook me for the person who had rudely taken her order(impossible since I didn't have a headset on that night... fucking corporate office).

I haven't worked since Christmas and that was a seasonal position.
