There are a lot of adult basic education centers around in most locations in the US, and obtaining a GED shows the devotion and investment in your life that employers like to see. It's different than high school -- no social cliques & the people are there because they *want* to be -- and you get a lot more individualized attention from the teachers.

My mom had a form of brain damage when I was growing up that made her bi-polar and often delusional. It may have been a form of schizophrenia, but she is long dead, so we will never know. Your mother's illness is not your fault. Start by finding a way to get that GED, and stay open to anyone offering to get you help through therapy or counseling. Mental illness is sometimes a communicable disease.

As for possible jobs... room service attendants in motels/hotels... waitress/server/ or busboy?
I knew a friend once that wrote on her application that she would work for "free" for 1 month to prove to the employer that she could do the job. She also didn't have a diploma, but was working on it. The employer was so impressed that he gave her shot.
Maybe that might work for you?

2. My father told me the same thing: "No one can take away your education. It imbues every part of you, and shows in everything you do."
3. You need a mentor, someone older you look up to and will listen to you. Ask for advice. If you like it, take it.
4. With your permission, I'll be praying for you.
