Hey guys! I just joined thanks to spotlight. I've been unemployed for a few months after quitting a job that only allowed for minimal hours of work, thinking it wouldn't be horribly difficult to find a job in my college town. Needless to say, I was wrong and now I'm here ( Read more... )

I never have, but my husband's old roomie used to do it, and she enjoyed it.

Mystery Shopping Providers Association is a good place to start. I'm pretty sure this is the site she linked through. It was that or this one.

Actually some of them are scams but others are solidly legitimate. I can't do them because of my son. I can't take him to some places, and often they are "timed".

One job I was offered was to go into a selected movie theatre to watch ONLY the beginning trailers and commercials. Yeah weird. I was also going to be paid BACk after buying the tickets to only see that first portion of a movie. o.O

So some of the jobs are a little wonky. But they do pay. Not a lot, but as long as you are single (or at least child free) you can stuff a bunch of them into one day.

Check this guy out. He's legit.

I certainly will if it all works out! I've created a profile with Corporate Research International but I haven't completed it. They only do paychecks via paypal or direct deposit and I'm a little scared of giving them my account number, although it is one of the most recommended businesses.

I signed up with this company: http://www.internationalservicecheck.com/
I was in Japan at the time and did one job with them (there weren't many offered). I did get paid in a timely fashion and they're definitely not a scam company. It was a pretty awkward job though, I'm generally not one to talk to sales clerks at all but I had to pretend to be interested in buying a watch for my significant other and ask all these questions, use up about 15 minutes of their time and then say "I'll think about it" and walk out. They paid about $30 for going to the store and writing a report via email.
I haven't tried signing up for the USA side so I don't know the frequency at which they offer jobs (I got about 1 offer per month or less in Japan, and most I wasn't qualified for), but it's probably not something that's going to bring in a lot of cash.

I've been doing mystery shopping for about 5 years now and love it to death. I'm a member with several different companies, all of which have their ups and downs.

The majority of companies that pay for mystery shopping won't pay you for a full month after you submit a shop- so consider that when searching.
