thanks.

yeah before moving in with my boyfriend and then removing because he had a job just as i lost mine i went to my career center for college. well that didn't help because they only knew san antonio tx, not va or in at all. so going back to my alumni and resources doesn't help me. :-\ anyway they taught me to use action verbs as starters and to change it based on what they were asking for.

i like the sight..and i see it telling me to call every day asking for help to get that info...but ya know i don't know if that would be seen as pushy in the social services vs. busniess/sales world.

Assertiveness is key. Don't pester, just simply follow up at least once after the interview. Most HR departments will let you know the status of things fairly soon. HR will NOT give info out-it's part of their job to protect people's privacy so you'll hit a brick wall. One key workaround I found was to say " Ok, is there anyone I CAN talk to that might be a good person to speak to about ___ ( the position or company)?" All they can do is either say no or refer you but at least you asked.

yeah that's what i've done so far. that site says you should sneak around and find it.. but it seems that the college/university jobs i apply to(nothing fancy, just secretary or assistant positions) have a pannel of people who do it electronically...so idk how to find that out.

what about before getting the interview?
