Internships Disguised as Jobs

 I'm posting this rant because I've gotten yet ANOTHER phone call in the past few days in response to a resume/cover letter I sent asking me to come in for an interview for what *seemed* to be a full-time position on their website but is actually an unpaid internship.

Unpaid internships are not illegal; they are where a lot of people get experiences.
Deceptively presenting them as paid jobs should be illegal though, if it isn't already. That's shady and completely sucks.

I used to go through this alot prior to Peace Corps.. I actually had some guy email me about coming down to NC ( which I wanted to do) to do grants for his org to hire more staff ( No funder wants to do this I told him.. but he was insistent). Oh, and could I do it for free because they were having trouble paying even their CEO?

HELL NO. I feel your pain.
