The local fast-food chains and retail stores will be taking in new employees in May, to offset their losses as students go on vacation.  Knowing this, should I apply now, and hope I don't end up at the bottom of the pile in two months...or should I apply in late April, and risk that my application will be lost in the rush?

question, retail, applications

All deals are off in retail nowadays. They have free reign of whoever they arbitrailiy (sp?) tend to hire. Heck, I've been in it 20 yrs except the last two and I can't even tell you what to expect. Pray to the gods, do a special dance, light special incense and oils...seriously. I got hired for a movie theater once simply because I'd been a fragrance model and the mgr reading my application was gay. YOU NEVER KNOW.

ps. just be yourself- be happy, look up when you talk to prospective employers. that tends to increase your odds. be enthusiastic.

Thank you. I'm going to go with this option, and check back in April; they should still have my original app on file.
