What's the absolute cheapest I can get driving lessons? (In Connecticut, around Waterbury.) Is there any kind of social services to help pay for driving lessons? I don't really think it's worth trying to look for a job, since there's no public transportation for miles around where I live, and I don't know anyone willing to drive me there and back ( Read more... )

I live in CT (New Haven area) and I'm still learning to drive too. Honestly, I would find a friend or relative to pay to give you lessons. The on the road lesson I had was such a rip off, like over $100 for two hours, I don't remember how much, and it wasn't that useful to me.

To get your drivers license though, you are going to have to take an 8hr drug and alcohol class, and some places offer an adult driving package that includes the 8hr class and an on the road lesson or two. I would really just check the phone book and make some calls and you might find a deal. Good luck!
