Good to know. I'll have to look for those. Nimbus lost yet another collar the other day - he's talented that way.

i just use a thin leather collar for my cats. i make it loose enough that it can slip over their heads, so if they get caught they can get it off. it seems to work as yoda managed to lose his collar a few weeks ago and i can't find those cheap $1 leather cat collars anymore.

i don't know why people continue to make nylon web collars for cats. every cat i have ever known scratches the collar with their hind claws and snags the nylon. eventually the nylon webbing pulls so tight that the cat is near choking. i have had to point that out to cat owners on a few occasions that their cat was about to strangle to death. i think the collar industry does it so that people will continually have to buy new collars. unfortunately, there are cats injured because their owners don't know to check the collars and replace them frequently (my vet verifies this).

at the new vet we went to b/c they supported katrina victims fabulously, and they subsidize a no kill shelter, (fairhope downtown animal clinic, dr. teresa and dr. anne) they had a collar for sale. It is nylon and neither the bat or the arlo who has used his claws kitty kicking her head and usually tears her collar off have 'damaged' this collar. It's got the breakaway clip.
I'll get the name, they are guaranteed for 'life' by the mfg. We got arlo reflective ones since he tends to hide in the bushes w/ this time of year early darkness. those that are cat safe break soon. Safe cat are better, and this other brand is really good. The leather molds here adn i can't stand the sneezing.
